Many years ago (?40+), we suddenly found we had enough ‘spare’ cash to splash out on a super holiday, now that our sons had grown and were doing their own thing. Both of us love being on the water, I was not too certain of my sea-legs, however husband was ex-Royal Navy, so used to all sorts of weather conditions! Having decided to dip our toes into this cruising lark, what a wonderful magical surprise was in store for us. ( I tend to be a bit of an out door girl and usually found in jeans, shorts and Doc Martens or wellie boots!) So, getting glam and dressing for dinner was an adventure. Straight away we discovered that we loved it … and have been hooked ever since. Fred Olsen ships are simply the best. Their ships are small and comfortable and our fellow passengers interesting. The crew are fabulous folk who are so friendly, helpful and empathetic. We occasionally bump into guys we haven’t seen for years and they recognize us instantly … something I find quite mind blowing, considering the number of passengers that must have passed before their eyes! I confess it is very often the bar staff, where we tend to gravitate on a number of occasions, during the sea days in particular. We are blessed with good health and continue to travel with Fred and look forward to our next trip with anticipation and excitement.
