Over the years, I have regularly gone on short walking trips with 3 friends and we have just returned from another stay at the Fox & Pheasant, Armathwaite in the Eden Valley. The pub is run by Bill & Sarah who are consistently friendly and helpful. We stay on a dinner, B&B basis and I have to say that the menu is impressively wide ranging and every item of food we had was excellent. Last, but not least, the beer is well kept and a good selection is always available.

I very much look forward to our next visit.
