We spent a week in a static caravan in Fishguard Bay Resort, and had a very relaxing and comfortable time there. Our caravan was called ‘Clifftop’ and the clue is in the name! It had the most amazing view of Dinas Head, and it was a true pleasure to sit in the gated garden to our caravan and just gaze at the scenery. Everything was spotlessly clean and the caravan was very well-equipped.
The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, and the site shop is stocked with useful goodies. There is an excellent free DVD library for those rainy days. There are all sorts of extras on site as there are camping and touring caravan pitches, and these appear very well provided for. If you fancy glamping, there are pods, and if you want more space, there is a luxury apartment and a large cottage too.
The only downside is the long, windy lane to the site, but it’s definitely worth it once you get there. The coastpath runs through the site, so if you can always leave the car and walk to Fishguard or in the Newport direction. Newport is a lovely village with excellent cafés (try Blas at Fronlas – we had a delicious lunch there). Parrog has a lovely harbour and beach and this is easily walkable from Newport. Cwm Yr Eglwys is a beautiful place – only a short walk from Pwllgwaelod, where there is good pub.
We’re really glad we found this site, and hope to return soon!
