My wonderful husband treated us to an amazing stay at this hotel to celebrate my recent birthday. The hotel is located in the small village of Baslow, near Chatsworth House in Derbyshire & has just 11 sumptuous bedrooms.

The rooms overlook a stunning garden, which has been designed & laid out by the owner, Max Fischer & are luxuriously furnished, with beautiful organic Scottish toiletries in the delightful bathroom. The bed was extremely comfortable & it was lovely to wake up to the sound of the dawn chorus outside the windows!

The hotel has a Michelin-Starred restaurant & offers an A La Carte or Tasting Menu, with optional wines for each course. We sampled the latter & it was absolutely delicious, with exemplary service.

The hotel offers a number of special events, including a garden tour & talk & cooking weekends.

I would definitely recommend this hotel & restaurant if you are celebrating a special event or simply want to be treated to a lovely break away from home.
