It was with some trepidation that we left Exeter for a week in Ibiza. Having heard it's colourful reputation we were unsure whether the hotel would be as good as it looked in Thomsons brochure. It wasn't – it surpassed expectations. We wanted a week's rest and relaxation in luxurious surroundings and that is exactly what we got. The hotel was refurbished in 2012 to a very high standard. Very modern bathroom with power massage shower, luxurious bedroom (bed a bit too hard for me but the hotel adrressed this) and superb food. There is a buffet style restaurant for breakfast and dinner that would rival any on a cruise ship for choice and cuisine. There is also a lovely Italian restaurant where guests can dine three times in the week. We ate outside on the water's edge to a beautiful sunset. The entertainment is low key but choice of room is important. Sometimes the entertainment (outside) didn't finish until 12.30. We stayed in room 218 which had a very pretty side view of the sea with the advantage that we could not hear the show. We're very discerning and only went to Ibiza as there was no other choice for the small window of opportunity that we had but we'd consider going again if we just needed a rest in a tranquil location.
