Reasons for trip

On a cold, wet Bank Holiday Monday we ventured forth into "how do we spend the day" and this is where we ended! The walled gardens are a delight, locals use parts as allotments and you can read a little about them. Chickens run around the orchard giving the children visiting a glimpse of times gone by (I was brought up on a farm). The National Trust has provided plenty of sitting areas for the weary to stop rest, soak up their surroundings and enjoy. The house was interesting and the National Trust volunteers were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. As there are stairs, for those who find this difficult, downstairs they provide a video viewing, so you can still experience the atmosphere. We had a light lunch in The Pantry which was good value. However, one small criticism is the queue, as the serving area is small when people are paying it slows things down. Unfortunately, due to the rain we didn't take any of the well sign-posted walks but this is a place I will visit again when in the area. A place well worth a visit! (close to Cromer).
