Walking

The hotel Family Lagant is situated in the small Austrian alpine town of Brand. The accommodation is in large comfortable ensuite rooms with balconys overlooking spectacular scenery. There is a large restaurant which is resonably priced and also a bar service in the hotel foyer. The food is typically Austrian, plenty of it and its all well cooked. There are indoor play areas for children / grandchildren, indoor tennis, several outdoor tennis courts, indoor football pitches swimming pools and child facilities. Everything you could want is nearby with a lido, mini zoo, and some fantastic alpine walking suited for all abilities. There are restaurants and cafes in the small town and a regular bus service from the lunersee through to Bludenz. The cable car is situated just down from the hotel and is very handy. The downside for the eurosceptics is the lack of english speakers, that just happens to suit us just fine however, we met just one english woman in our week there. I fell in love with the place within hours of being there and Im looking forward to my next visit. This is an ideal base for walking, climbing and mountain biking, is fantastic scenery, we went in the summer months, the weather was in the high 70s and fantastic. I would recommend a walk to Totalphutte at 8800 feet it is well worth the effort and not too taxing with some very nice food and drink at the end of the hike in the snow.
