I went last Sunday and had a thoroughly enjoyable day out.
The festival is held annually in the grounds of the historic Rougement Castle (also known as Exeter Castle) built in 1068 and the grounds of Northernhay gardens.
There really is something for everyone.
Amazing food/drink stalls, cooking demonstrations by top local chefs, great music in outdoor setting in an absolute sunspot, tastings, and tents with loads of fun, informative events for children.
I was lucky enough to be given a VIP ticket but it’s possible to upgrade and, in my mind, is worth it. Normal entrance is £8 but £20 for VIP.
Seniors can go for £6 on Fridays and children for just £1 anytime. For this you have a comfortable lunge in the castle with two free alcoholic or soft drinks, a wonderful afternoon tea, a free mini treatment ( I had a shoulder massage) and unlimited hot drinks.
The gardens are beautiful this time of year with massive displays of primroses, bluebells and camelias.
There is also nightlife with various bands but I didn’t do this.
It really is a delightful day. Try it next year!
