I was lucky enough to have met a very special someone later in life and we decided to get married abroad. We chose The Riviera Maya in Mexico and a hotel which was for adults only and the height of luxury.
We weren’t disappointed in any way.
We arrived at the hotel and were met by a porter who showed us round the hotel and carried our bags up to our room. There were plenty of lifts if you dont like stairs too. I have to admit I was completely overwhelmed by the hotel – it was all I had ever dreamed of and more.
The cleanliness couldn’t be faulted. The staff were courteous and always helpful. The setting and scenery around the grounds was stunning and the beach, well – white sand and turquoise blue sea with a private area just for the hotel with it’s own sunbeds – what more could you want!!!
There were 6 different restaurants to choose from and all were first class. You did have to book at some of them but it was never a problem. You could chose from Mexican, Italian, French, Mediterranean, A Lobster House and a Chinese – all excellent and of the highest standards.
The swimming pools were clean and warm and there were plenty to choose from and never a problem finding a sunbed.
I would say the hotel is suitable for all ages – it is adults only so no children to get under your feet. The majority of couples seemed to be on honeymoon or celebrating special anniversaries and the hotel celebrated all of these special occasions with you.
The entertainment was of a good standard and something for everyone.
Our wedding was the most amazing day and the hotel made it ultra special for us. We had our own wedding co-ordinator supplied by the hotel and she ensured it all went without a hitch. We also used the hotel photographer who was excellent and whose rates were very reasonable (compared with the UK anyway)!
There were computers available free of charge.
The rooms were luxurious with king sized beds and most had jacuzzis in too. They had good airconditioning, a fridge and all the little added extras that you would need (except a kettle and tea and coffee maybe).
All in all a fantastic hotel, not cheap but worth every penny for that special occasion.
