This was our fifth visit to the Excellence Riviera and it certainly didn’t disappoint. The resort is all inclusive and food there was wonderful. They have also opened a coffee bar that did every type of coffee you could think of including frappes. You could also pick up snacks and freshly cooked cakes and biscuits there.
We tried all of the restaurants except for the Oregano mainly because I am not a huge fan of pizzas. All the restaurants are wonderful. I think the French restaurant Chez Isabelle is my favourite whilst The Grill is my husband’s.
The rooms are huge with jacuzzi baths, comfortable beds, as small lounge area and a balcony. Fridge is topped up every day with soft drinks, beers, wine, and sweets and there are three bottles of spirits in the room too. One of the bottles is always tequila as you would expect and this time the other two were rum and vodka.
It caters very well for disabled people with all restaurants, pools, entertainment venues easily accessible.
We went in May and it was hot! There are umbrellas over nearly every bed. There are a few that are not under cover because there are some people who want to just lie there and baste themselves. The staff regularly come around the pool to ask if you want drinks. You can also ask them to bring you food too but I think it is nice to get out of the sun for a while and go to the restaurant myself.
We didn’t do any trips. Maybe next time. Whenever we see people who have gone on sightseeing trips they always look exhausted and really hot when the come back.
There is a gym there too if you want to burn off some of the calories. There are a few pools there. We prefer the quiet pool. There is a pool bar near the beach which is quite lively.
Cancun airport has had an renovation too. If you order food there you had better be hungry as the portion sizes are huge.
