Reasons for trip

Personal / family celebration

We visited this hotel for my 60th birthday and it was wonderful from the second we arrived. Our luggage, including hand luggage, was taken by a porter from our taxi, we were handed ice-cold wet towels to freshen up and seated with champagne before check-in. Check-in was quick and the porter escorted us to our room along with our luggage. The accommodation was beautiful and very spacious. The porter gave us a little tour and explained such things as the safe and air-conditioning. There was a large jacuzzi bath just off the bedroom, a minibar, restocked daily, and a large balcony overlooking the pool. Each night there was also a turn-down service which was a nice touch. There were lifts on all floors and wheelchair access everywhere.

The selection of food at the Barcelona restaurant at breakfast was huge. I've never seen so many juices and smoothies. There was also champagne and vodka for those who wanted to start the day with a bloody Mary! There was quite a few restaurants and you didn't have to book, although you sometimes had a slight wait, it was never very long and there were plenty of bars to wait in near the restaurants. There was a wonderful Martini bar at the centre of the hotel which served Martinis, cocktails and any other drink you could think of. The Martini bar was also open very early in the morning with juices, coffee and pastries which you could help yourself to. There was plenty of activities and shows for those who wanted something more than to just lie on a sunlounger. But those that did want to lounge around had comfortable padded sunloungers and waiters/waitresses who came around very regularly to serve drinks or snacks.

The service from all the staff was quick, courteous and polite and they were always smiling.

Can't wait to go back, probably Feb next year.
