The hotel is placed right on the sandy beach of Achladies, which has a good supply of beach chairs and umbrellas. There is a water taxi from the beach to the nearby main village of Skiathos which takes about 10 minutes and costs €2.50 per person. the hotel is not very inspiring to look at as it is probably 70's styling, but the raised flower beds are extraordinarily beautiful with roses of every hue and huge colourful geraniums. The bedrooms are practical, and have everything needed for a beach holiday. The tv reception was a bit erratic and WIFI could only be accessed in the public areas. The balconies in most blocks are a little odd with a strange raised bench built into the walls and not much room for a chair and table.. The rooms in the 8th block have good balconies and ground floor terraces and are nearest the sea. There is a good sized pool an pool bar which offers lovely view to nearby islands. The restaurant served excellent buffet style breakfasts and dinners, with plenty of variety and many vegetarian dishes. All the staff were very friendly and professional. We were there at the beginning of the season and so they were not completely open, which was disappointing. This meant the beach bar closed at 5 p.m. just as we were leaving the beach! However there are two very friendly bars on either side of the hotel which were open all hours and offered good food as well for lunches. The very large indoor bar was totally lacking in atmosphere as there was no music or any type of entertainment there. There is a bus stop not far from the hotel which goes to the village and also to other beaches. The hotel has 70% repeat business which is a good indication of the level of satisfaction. We would go back probably a little later in the year though when everywhere was fully open.
