Reasons for trip

We aren't keen on coach tours and therefore decided to book a taxi trip to Ephesus from our hotel and we were very glad we did. Our guide was a young man studying to be a Tour Guide at university and he had a wealth of knowledge on the history of Ephesus and the surrounding area. He stopped at various sites of interest on the way including Temple of Artemis and House of Virgin Mary. We found Ephesus fascinating but extremely hot with little shade and floors are uneven and in some areas slippery so necessary precautions against the heat and suitable footwear are essential.
