Well worth a day out with youngsters – ride high over London in the new Emirates Air Line (chose a clear day for best views as far east as the Olympic Village or west to Thames Barrier or London City Airport). Very reasonable fares with reduced rates for kids and seniors with Freedom Pass. Four minute flight during peak times or 6 minutes off peak – small cable cars holding 4-6 people in smooth safe mode, no swaying around even in windy weather. Goes from near DLR station and deposits you at O2 Arena. Check out The Diamond before you fly – free and very interesting hands-on interactive exhibition recently opened by Siemens showing what the future holds for our planet – right next to the Emirates Air Line. Nice cafe for snacks.
