We arrived at the restaurant on Sunday 4th September at 8pm, expecting queues already as we had seen the previous evening (you can’t book in peak season), but were delighted to be seated immediately and outside, overlooking the sea.
The waiter was patient with my pronunciation and was able to recommend the Argentinian steak.
I am always wary of the quality of beef/steak in Spain so was not expecting the carpaccio to be so tasty and tender when it arrived. Also, I’m not a big fan of cheese, other than British (and a couple of Fairly mild French cheeses) so I was AMAZED at how wonderful the seleccion especial was – the chutneys were beautiful too.
When the steaks arrived, cooked as requested, I was pleased that the starters had been no fluke and we were treated to great tastes and textures.
We tried the Ontanon crianza which was beautiful and not too heavy in the heat of the evening. They also do the Gran Reserva which I have seen recommended on another review site.
For two of us with two courses, coffee, wine and 4 bottles of water, it came to about €90. Very pleasing indeed.
