Reasons for trip

I’ve gone through a few phases with Easy Jet. I originally disliked them (and all low-cost airlines), but then realised that they not only offered good value, but their time keeping was pretty good. However, after our recent flights from Gatwick North to Valencia, Spain and back again, I think I’m going off them.

Our flight was at 9.05am and having got over the worry about the self-service check in of our bags, everything was going well (we always speedy board). Unfortunately, and this cannot be blamed on Easy Jet, I had a rather strange man sat next to me who not only infiltrated my arm rest but was a man spreader. He drank copious hot drinks (which meant constant trips to the loo and he had a window seat) and, having bought duty free after shave, opened it and liberally sprayed himself. There was also a wailing baby sat near the front who never stopped for virtually the whole two-hour flight. Once boarded, we were told there would be delays of up to an hour (no mention in the terminal but apparently on the App) but it turned out to be only 30 minutes. As we’d been up early, I fell asleep waiting to take off, and only woke when the drinks trolley arrived. We managed to catch up our time and arrived only 5 minutes late.

Coming back, we were just about to taxi when the Captain announced that he needed to do a ‘computer re-boot’ which meant turning the engines off for 10 minutes which turned into 20. He then announced we’d lost our take off slot and we’d have to wait another hour. Fortunately, this turned out to be less, but we were still an hour late on arrival.
