Having just moved to Eastbourne last year, my wife and I wanted to experience a local bonfire night. Where we came from, Watford. It was just a large bonfire and some fireworks. But a new friend said we should look at the bonfire night parade, which is actually held in October for many reasons. (In 2013 it is on the 5th October). We went expecting litle change from other displays, but it was amazing, parades of banners, fire eaters, flaming torches, pirates, efigies of the most unpopular people of the moment, 18th century soldiers and sailors in uniform. Paraded by over a thousand participants. We were amazed, best free show we had seen for years. Well done Eastbourne, see you this year in 2013.
