Looking after 4 year old grandson during school holidays and 'cashed in' Tesco vouchers for 3 of us (including my husband) to go out for the day. I am glad I didn't have to pay as family of 3 is £57, but once into zoo, it is well laid out with plenty to amuse old and young alike. I particularly enjoyed walking amonst the fruit bats and lemurs in their enclosures. The glass walls make it easy to get up close to other animals. They are very ecologically aware and have feeding and information times about the animals. When we finished the zoo, we had a picnic at tables provided and then a ride on 'Thomas the Tank Engine' around the park. After a busy morning, my husband and I were glad of a rest whilst grandson played on the huge adventure playground. Plenty of climbing, swinging, sliding, zip wires, trampaulines etc. for all ages. There is also a child's paddling pool open on good weather days. Few souvenir shops and cafe's (bit pricey, but ok for a coffee) and result was a very tired small person sleeping all the way home in the car! I advise anyone who doesn't want a huge zoo to walk round, but with other things to do, to give this zoo a go. We really enjoyed it.
