Dover Castle is right on my doorstep and is a dominating part of Dover’s beautiful landscape. The history of this impressive building is substantial and is brought alive for younger visitors with engaging interactive areas.
The tunnels burrowing under the cliffs is a must-see attraction and can be found within the grounds. Here stories of WW2 and spun and the rooms are decked out as they would have been then. A secret at the time and a major part of our defence against possible invasion.
But what impresses me most are the views of Dover, the English Channel and even France, on a clear day. It is a beautiful setting and one I never tire of – however, the entry cost is high so be warned!
