This has to be one of the best holidays we have ever had. There were 48 of us Scots arrived in Dover Beach Hotel in May on a scorching hot day and the men were wearing their kilts! The hotel laid on a warm reception and welcome party for us and we even featured in the local newspaper! The rooms were lovely and clean and spacious. The rooms were cleaned daily to a high standard. The majority of the party were upgraded to ocean views at no extra cost. The hotel has its own terrace on the beach and when you see the lovely blue water sparkling in the Bajan sun, you can't help but think you have found the ultimate paradise. The two weeks we spent there were fantastic and the Hotel staff went that extra mile to help you in every way. There were a few rum tasting evenings at the pool terrace which went down well (and the rum!!) with all the Scots. We went on the Cool Runnings Catamaran Cruise which is a must to see the Island and with a lovely meal and free drink all included in the price. The hotel has free internet access and is suitable for people who are not able to walk far. There are lots of lovely restaurants and bars along St Lawrence Gap and we had amazing meals at the restaurants called Harlequins, Sharkeys and Ocean. The Harbour Lights show is a great show with different types of entertainers and the meal at that was also superb. We travelled on an all day bus round the island and stopped at nearly every rum shop in Barbardos. The locals must have thought we were crazy as we were singing "Ole ole feeling hot, hot, hot" every time we got off the bus! I would definitely recommend this hotel and the Island of Barbados for a truly magical holiday you'll treasure for a lifetime. I just wish I can go back soon. You have to go to experience it.
