Looks good from the outside & there is plenty of parking. Staff at reception were efficient & helpful, in fact I found all the staff wherever we encountered them (bar, restaurant etc.) to be really helpful, polite & a good sense of humour. The bar staff & reception were very helpful in pointing out things to do in the area. The whole hotel looks very clean & well maintained. The twin room we had was quite small but it did the job & was reasonably well equipped (safe, hairdryer, tv, tea & coffee making facilities etc.) Free Wi-Fi was available & that was a major plus for me. The bedding was clean. although the sheet covering the mattress has two holes in it which was pretty poor, but being crisp & clean was more important to me. The mattress itself was very firm, which I didn't like but it probably more a matter of preference. The room was very quiet, I never heard any noise from outside or the rest of the hotel. To give an idea of the overall standard of the rooms it very much reminded me of a Premier Inn (although I think Prem Inn beds are more comfortable). Probably the biggest issue for me was that the whole hotel felt chilly, rather than warm & cosy. When I mentioned this to the staff they very promptly responded with a heater for our room but to sit in the bar or the restaurant for breakfast meant wearing a fleece. Breakfast was good quality, plentiful & a reasonable choice. Shame really about the cold because the staff were so lovely & tried really hard to make this a great place to stay.
Very handy for Windsor Castle & Eton if you have your own car.
Make sure you know where you're going the old fashioned way with a map. My Sat Nav told me I was there whilst I was still on the M4.
