I visited Delft on a day tour from emerald cruises while staying for a day in The Hague in the Netherlands. The old town is a delightful web of streets and canals filled with lovely buildings and architecture. We first visited delft pottery outside of the old town with its delightful blue tiled porcelain and a had a lovely guided tour around factory and a look around the beautiful shop. Then, I visited the old town with its associations with William of Orange and saw the outside of the leaning old church tower. I passed lovely buildings, shops and cafes and finished off at old town square which was getting ready for kings day and had a local beer. There is a nice church in the square and a Catholic Church just off the square. On the way back to the bus we even saw drawbridge lift up to let a boat go by.
