We stayed here for two nights whilst visiting RHS Hamton Court Flower Show, quite convenient as about 10 miles or so away. The price was quite reasonable for being so close to the show.
The Hotel is two buildings one being for Business & Conference customers, this was the building we were in although both are interconnected. Overall the Hotels look and feel luxurious and have a lovely feel to them, but are let down by not having facilities open all day i.e nowhere to get a drink or snack after 2pm. Plenty places to sit and relax and there is free coffee bars but probably for the use of the conference customers, but nobody seems to police it.
The accomodation although having everything required seemed very small compared to other hotel chains and very basic amenities i.e 1 small soap and one body wash. The shower was small with nowhere to turn, the bed was also small and very firm which did not really give us a good night’s sleep.
We were bed and breakfast and the Breakfast choice was good with all the usual served as a Buffet, we also had a meal in the bar, Steak Pie Mash & Green Beans, very nice, Hubby had a Ceased Salad with Chicken but would not have this again. Very dry with very little sauce and the chicken looked and tasted like packet not fresh as you would expect, so a bit hit or miss.
The redeeming feature of the stay for me was the grounds the Hotel was set in, they were stunning as was Horsley manor. The Gardens were also worth having a walk round, I have not commented on the Leisure centre as we did not use it, and I would also like to say that I think there are more facilities open at the weekend.
Would we return? If we were back in the same area we would consider it we enjoyed our stay and with just a few tweaks it would have been great.
