Relaxation

We booked a weekend away with Thorpe Park Breaks and we were really excited to be getting away as we had not been away for a long time. What a disappointment this break proved to be. I will review it similar to four in a bed!

Host
Very friendly reception desk but when I explained that I was disabled he could not find me a room nearer to the main hub of the hotel so our room was at least a 7 minute walk from the reception and bar and restaurant.

Facilities
Our room was very dated and was in need of a lick of pain., The bed was a very small double, the duvet was only 3cm thick and obviously very old and used and only one pillow each. The divan base was very old and stained. The bathroom was horrible. It was very old and dated with a blue bathroom suite that had seen much better days, the edge sealent was stained and mouldy. The bath had several body hairs still attached to it and even when room service cleaned the next day the hairs were still there! Really lovely thick white towels which in a way just highlighted further the rooms dinginess. Tea and coffee making but uht milk and no biscuits etc.

Cleanliness
Reception area and walkways, bar restaurant very clean but the room let it down with the dreadful bathroom and stained bed and walls. How did you sleep? Terribly, my hubby and I both complained that the bed was old and lumpy and way too small for us. The duvet was terribly thin and dirty too and dreaded the second night there. Breakfast: was really lovely, fantastic selection of foods and all fresh and tasty though we did go to breakfast early. You had to rely on waiting staff to serve you tea etc which was disappointing, also the waitress was a little annoying keep asking if all is ok! Would you stay here again? No No No we left a day early due to the room we were in, they couldn't move us as they were full, the deputy manager was nice and offered us a free night in a better room if we chose to return. We are still fighting to receive the money back for the night we didn't use as Thorpe Park Breaks and the hotel cannot agree on who owes me what!
