We flew to Kiruna in Sweden and then 2.15 hrs on coach to Karesuvanto and the Davvi Arctic Lodge. The scenery was stunning wall to wall snow , we had a log cabin which was lovely and warm but no tea or coffee in cabin . The activities , eg Husky sled ride , Reindeer , snowmobile etc were brilliant.
We had to go to the lodge for our meals, which were a bit of a let down, breakfast being the best one as they cooked eggs to order. The rest of the meals were dried up, reheated and not enough for a man, nothing special for dessert, usually a dry cake no custard or ice cream, then on last day a scoop of ice cream!!! The location was remote not enough to do after our excursions. We walked into Sweden twice, but very small village with beautiful church and one shop. We had a great time, but extra excursions were very expensive, and there really wasn’t enough to do.
