This hotel is in a good location overlooking the Danube and with good public transport links ( bus, tram and metro) but we found the river view, for which we had paid extra, to be a double edged sword. There was a great deal of noise from the traffic outside and also the disco bar ( part of the hotel) until around 4.30am. Internally the room looked nice and the bathroom was okay but it was all far too hot and the air conditioning unit was ineffective and incredibly noisy so could not be used at night. I felt the hotel was very much “all fur coat and no knickers” as it looked much smarter than it was. Breakfast was described as sumptuous and there was a good choice but we were not impressed by the watered down fruit juice, tinned fruit salad and no real coffee unless you paid extra. The maids also seemed very parsimonious, toiletries in the room where one small combined shower and hair wash and small bars of soap – I would have expected more from a hotel at this cost and they, and the shower caps, were not replaced daily, in fact we got no more shower wash in 3 nights and only shower caps once.
On the plus side the thermal baths were fabulous, both in decor and comfort although the staff seemed pretty indifferent to their jobs and could do with some training ( and even enthusiasm!). The exception to this was the very helpful reception staff who organised extra pillows, a free standing fan , phone charger, airport minibus etc very quickly and proficiently and with a smile. The expresso coffee bar was also very good, a nice range of drinks including home made lemonade and fabulous cakes at very reasonable prices. The staff here were also pleasant but rather overworked so no use going there if you were in a hurry.
I would recommend going to the baths and the coffee shop but stay elsewhere.
