I have just returned from a 12 night stay at The Dan Panorama, Jerusalem. I selected this hotel as it is centrally located and handy for the Old city which is where we spent several days. The hotel is modern, clean and tidy with a limited amount of parking for guests vehicle to the side. There are several shops, spa, toilets and a gym in the basement, the ground floor consists of lifts, foyer, bar/ dining area, a large dining room and several conference rooms, there is an information point in English and other languages sited in the foyer too. The 8th floor has a small pool and lounges, towels are provided and there is a water fountain and steps down onto the 7th floor where there are showers, hammocks, loungers, tables and chairs and a bar. The rooms were a decent size with tea and coffee provided daily, plenty of towels and complimentary wash items which were also replenished. They are equipped with telephones, hair drier, large TV with some English channels and all now have internet access for free. The breakfasts are immense, a buffet style covering most tastes (no meat) cereals, salads, fish, omelettes, hot foods, cheeses, breads and yogurts. The beds are massive and comfortable. Room cleaning was a bit hit and miss, sometimes things were not replaced however it was rectified quickly. The bar area was clean and tidy, the food, basic, again no meat on the bar meals which isn't a problem for us in any case. A 12" pizza was 45 Nis. Tips – if you are to choose Dan Panorama or any Dan hotel I would advise joining the E-dan club for free. You get a gift (water and chocolate) best room upgrade available (larger corner rooms) however if you buy from the bar put it on the room bill, this way you don't pay tax at 18% and you also get 12.5% discount for being a member on top which adds up. You also amass points towards free stays. Reception will sort out packed breakfasts for nothing if you have an early morning start. With 3 lifts and ramps the hotel is suitable for disabled guests.
