Often we travel to London by National Express and arrive in Victoria. Just outside the coach station, at 2a Elizabeth Street, is a lovely restaurant called da Scalzo. The premises are a converted church hall and are on 2 floors. This restaurant is not part of a chain and the service is individual and excellent. The food is always freshly cooked and you can see it being prepared as the kitchen is not hidden away as in some restaurants.
Although mainly Italian, there are very varied dishes and I guarantee there is something to suit everyone. It is open for lunch and dinner and the pizza is fantastic as are the succulent fish dishes and the amazing Tiramisu. The staff are very friendly and attentive but never overbearing and we felt really at home here. The lunch-time specials are extremely good value.
I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant which is close not only to Victoria Coach Station but also to Victoria rail and underground station and the Apollo Theatre too.
