A lovely hotel which gives a warm welcome to guests when they check in and when they visit the restaurant. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and the bed linen beautifully demonstrates the benefits of a high thread count.
The breakfast buffet has a good selection of food. For those of us who don’t appreciate haggis, square sausages and black pudding, there are eggs bacon etc.
The evening meal includes a choice from the a la carte menu or a selection from the carvery / buffet. The carvery/buffet option is just under £20 for 3 courses: you select the starter and dessert from the menu and help yourself to the carvery/buffet for the main course. Good quality and excellent value for money.
The hotel is situated next to the Armadillo which is a stop on the Hop On / Hop Off bus tour, and also well worth doing. Buy a 2 day ticket and you’ll be able to get back on the Hop On /Hop Off bus.
I have spent a couple of weekends at the hotel and often stayed here on business during 2016. Would recommend the hotel and also Glasgow if you fancy a city break.
