Had a very nice one night stay here when we were going to the theatre in Edinburgh. The room was in need of redecoration but everything else was fine. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was very good. There was free WIFI in the hotel although it didn't extend as far as our bedroom. I would say though if you aren't very fit ask for a low floor as there is no lift and even though my husband and I are pretty fit climbing all the stairs to the top of the hotel is tiring! You can get direct buses into Edinburgh from Penicuik and they are cheap so worth a thought if you want to save on Edinburgh Hotel prices. We booked direct with hotel and got a really good price. Would certainly stay again.
