Corfu town is a sprawling mixture of old verses the new. If going by bus you get dropped off in the town centre who is the new part and must go to the bus centre to get back. The bus centre however, is over 300m out of town in the opposite direction from the tourist attractions so be prepared for a bit of a trek. New town is much the same as any UK town. The old town is quaint with tiny side streets and small shops, most selling postcards, fridge magnets, anything carved out of olive wood, hand made bits of ceramics and finally, lots of natural sponges. The coast area is pretty with a few cafes, park and museums (especially the fort) but is to be honest a bit dull. In summary, nice but not great.
