I have just returned from a visit to Dorset with my daughter and two of my grandchildren aged 4 and 2. During our stay we spent a very enjoyable day in Corfe, where we visited the castle, the gardens and the model village.
Corfe is a very attractive town with pretty shops and houses and an old fashioned tea shop where we had a cream tea (slightly disappointing) and visited the very pretty gardens, the model village and the castle. The model village was delightful and very realistic. I took several photographs which I downloaded online and several people commented that they thought that the pictures were aerial views taken from a helicopter!
The museum was interesting and gave a short history of the castle; there were also some authentic stocks which were a source of amusement to my grandchildren! I attach a photograph.
The castle itself was interesting, albeit not ideal to take very young children or people with mobility problems, as there is some steep climbing and sheer drops involved. However, it is historically of great interest and the views are magnificent.
