Reasons for trip

Relaxation

We had a wonderful family orientated Golden Wedding celebration in Malaysia and decided that afterwards we wanted a luxurious week of peaceful relaxation. We opted to go to the Conrad Bali hotel. It was everything we had hoped for and we had a glorious, relaxing and pampered week.

The actual hotel consists of several blocks surrounding large pools and facing the sea. We had opted to thoroughly spoil ourselves and had booked a Conrad Ocean Suite. Included in the rates for the Conrad suites are breakfast, afternoon tea, evening cocktails, airport collection and return, washing, dry cleaning and wi-fi. We made good use of all these and they were much appreciated after our busy earlier time.

The Conrad suites are in a separate block with their own adult only pool surrounded by “bales” which are basically four poster double sun beds. Cold water, iced flannels, fruit and sorbet were brought around at various intervals and it was perfectly peaceful and relaxing.

Our suite was enormous, the lounge, as well as having the usual settee and armchairs, had a dining table and chairs and a kitchenette. The bathroom and bedroom were equally spacious with walk in wardrobes, dressing areas etc. The balcony was also huge with, as well as a table and chairs, a double sun bed where we could lay and look at garden, weddings and the sea. We had one great evening where we lay, with drinks to hand, and watched a tremendous tropical storm over the sea, definitely memorable and better than a fireworks display!

We did wander around the main resort and swim in the huge pools as well as having a dip in the sea – but found the sand rather too hot for comfort on the beach. We had been to Bali before so did not do much exploring although many interesting day trips were offered. We made use of the hotel shuttle bus to a shopping centre just to get a few last minute gifts etc but relaxation was what we had come for and this hotel was perfect for us.
