This was a first family holiday in Spain (we usually go elsewhere in Europe or further afield). We chose the Atlantic coast to be away from the crowds of the Mediterranean and we were not disappointed. The hotel is situated a little outside centre of Conil and set back high above a beautiful beach that seems to go on forever. The food at the hotel was ok (full buffet breakfast) but far better was the tapas in the local town 15 mins easy walk along the promenade or beach. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from. The hotel is a little confusing in layout as it was actually 2 hotels which are now operated as if one unit. There are good facilities – 2 large pool areas and plenty of space. There is a well equipped gym (much used by our ourselves and teenage sons but by very few others). There is also a good indoor pool and spa area. All of the staff we met were kind, courteous and professional and the reception staff particularly informative and helpful. Our rooms were large and the public spaces in the hotel also light and airy with easy access for wheelchairs. WIFI was reliable and free. The hotel was very popular with Spanish and German clients and very few people from elsewhere. The timing of our stay coincided with European school holidays and the football World Cup so the hotel was very busy with young children (there is a well used kidi-club). We understand that at other times it is very quiet. Taking long walks at the waters edge along the beach was great. The area is well named, the light there really does seem to be clear and is especially pretty and quite spectacular at sunset.
