Culture/Sightseeing

Comic Con is a comic book convention with the focus on comic books and their culture. The fans gather to meet the creators and the experts. Many of these fans dress up in the most fantastic costumes and this was the case in Liverpool. It was held in the M&S Bank Arena on the waterfront. There was a lot going on inside the venue, but we were there just to photograph the participants outside. They were more than willing to pose for the camera, because they had obviously taken a lot of trouble to get their outfits perfectly authentic. I am part of a photographic group who meet up reguarly when there is an event on in the city or elsewhere locally. As far as who the comic book characters are concerned, I haven’t a clue who they are representing. We were not disappointed on the day; the weather was fine and a great number of people of all ages were dressed up in some amazing costumes. After a few hours of standing around taking photos, I was ready for a sit down. So, we went to my favourite place for tea and cakes – the John Lewis store nearby. It is guarenteed that you will get a good selection of cakes and a comfy seat!

I would recommend this type of event for something completely different!
