The Comberemere Abbey Guest Houses are set in the grounds of a grand estate still. The Stone Lodge is the gate house, one of the 6 guest houses available.
With 2 well-appointed bedroom including a warm and cosy sitting room complete with wood burning stove, board games and DVD'S for the kids available for free from the communal pantry located near the office.
You can choose to cook for yourself or take advantage of the breakfast hamper including provisions for a Full English breakfast. The management also have laid in a complete menu of gourmet meals and deserts in a wells stocked freeze along with a great wine and beverages on offer located in the pantry near the head office.
The walks around the grounds offer lovely views across the hills and the lake. Bicycles are available to borrow for both adults and kids as well as a private play ground and BBQ site nearby.
I give this accomodation a 5 star rating for comfort on every level.
Just 1 mile down the road is The Combermere Arms where Sunday lunch is a real treat and the Game Menu is hard to rival. It is a very friendly pub with 2 large dining rooms. The food and service are excellent.
