College Guest House, 93 Hill Street, St Thomas’s Green, Haverfordwest, SA61 1QL This is a big, old house at the top of the town near the Leisure Centre, although the one-way system seems determined to thwart the driver and makes it feel like it must be miles from town. In fact, it is just a few minutes’ walk away from the main shopping centre.

It was a very friendly welcome, big room with modern shower facilities, fridge and sofa plus microwave and crockery in the guest lounge if you want to bring back a take-away. Everything is geared towards making sure guests are comfy and breakfast was freshly cooked including eggs from their own hens. At less than £80 a night for two people B&B, College House is good value. We would certainly stay there again.

Haverfordwest itself is a bit jaded, could do with a face-lift as lots of shops closed down, but it is a good location for exploring Pembrokeshire and west Wales.
