This museum is not just for children although it’s a great place for them to visit when they are learning about the Romans at school. The sight of the huge circus was uncovered during building works and it’s amazing to be able to see some of the original stones and the walls. The museum has a beautiful model circus (think horses and chariots!) made by a volunteer and mosaics are being reconstructed, also by a team of volunteers. Entry is free.
As a bonus, there’s a lovely cafe with good tea and coffee and genuine home-made cakes.
