Relaxation

We enjoyed staying at this large resort which has plenty of facilities including a large outdoor pool, reasonable sized indoor pool, gym, tennis courts and plenty of sun loungers.

Our room 1027 was quite large, with plenty of floor space and comfortable twin beds. Sadly they didn’t stay together during the night, so couples need to negotiate the “cuddle gap” between the beds. Air con, fridge, an over bath shower and mini safe meant that the essentials were there but although the shower gel in the dispenser was good enough for a body wash, we needed to use our own shampoo. A nice patio with chairs & table sat outside our patio doors overlooking the well tended gardens.

Food is all buffet style and very nice. The quality was pretty good, with plenty of choice but some dishes weren’t as hot as they should have been. Also the fish often seemed undercooked. Freshly cooked food was often piled on top of warming food in dishes, meaning that the food at the bottom had been there for some time. That said, we applied a little common sense to what we did & didn’t eat and largely enjoyed the food but a little more variety at breakfast would have been nice. The speciality Moroccan and Italian restaurants are included but bookable in advance. They are very nice, also self serve, but a shame they don’t make them really special by providing table service. Multiple bars serve the all inclusive drinks, which are fine but limited in comparison to other all inclusive resorts we’ve been too.

Around the pool there are many sun loungers, mats and cabana style areas but shade is at a premium, so the dreaded towel placement/lounger reservations start before dawn and is not controlled by the resort. Apart from a couple of sessions like aqua and dance, the music around the pool is kept at a reasonable level. The entertainment team work hard and have lots of energy but some of the entertainment served up is far from our tastes and entirely missable.

Staff overall are lovely, very accommodating and the service is pretty good. There are tireless efforts to keep the place spic and span, it’s a spotless resort.

There seemed to be step free access to most areas of the resort and we observed a number of wheelchair users moving freely around during our stay. I didn’t get to see any rooms that had any dedicated accessibility features, so check with the hotel or agent that your needs can be met prior to booking. The complex is so large that some rooms are quite a trek, so request a room nearer to the lobby/restaurants if needed.

Environmentally they have made some efforts to reduce single use plastic waste by pouring glasses of water from larger plastic bottles (rather than handing out smaller bottles) but so much more could be done here to eliminate single use plastic e.g. stop using plastic straws.

Rated as a four star and I think that’s about right, I’d be happy to stay here again.
