Had an absolute cracker of a holiday at the Clubhotel Riu Tikida Dunas. One sight of the hotel on the approach told me that this was going to be just what we needed. On arrival our bags were taken from us by the porters and apart from putting stickers with room numbers on them we did not see them again until they appeared in our room. Refreshing drinks were given to us in reception. We then waited about ten minutes to be checked in. There were 8 receptionists on duty to see to almost a coach load of travellers. We were booked into Block 2 but the receptionist said that it was too far for me to walk as I had a walking stick (I had not asked for any preferential treatment) and asked if I could walk up some stairs. I said yes and so they booked us into Block 1 first floor. The room had a beautiful view of the gardens and a sea view for which we did not pay. That is what I call service. The room was large and the bathroom and toilet separate, being kept spotless by the cleaners. The bedding and towels were changed every day regardless.
Food
How anyone can complain about the food I fail to understand. There was something for everyone, from spicy to plain or vegetarian. If you cannot find anything to suit you then you should not leave home. We attended the grill and Moroccan restaurants and had two very pleasant evenings. You have to book these nights and you will be placed with speakers of your own language.
Staff
From the management down to the cleaners of the pool areas they are always asking if everything is all right for you, your room, the food, etc. They will initially speak to you in French but switch to your language when they see that you are not French. They aim to please and make your holiday a good one if they can.
Animation Team
These people work extremely hard to keep you entertained. They start work at 10am through to 11pm. If you do not wish to take part in the games etc they will not bother you nor pressure you. They will talk to you and answer all your questions. They even turned down the music volume one day in the pool area when asked as it was a bit too loud and it did not get any louder the next few days. Look out for the 3pm performance each day on the bridge over the pool, it is quite entertaining.
If you are disabled or have difficulty in walking then do not worry. There are slopes and walkways to enable you to get down to the lower levels. The promenade is flat and wheelchair friendly. I have walking difficulties and got about very easily. A holiday for all ages. Our only complaint and it was our fault, we were not there long enough, only 7 days. We will definitely be back, Count on it.
