We visit Chesterfield every week if possible, such a pleasant shopping experience.
If you come by train it is only a short walk over the bridge and up past the Pomegranate Theatre and the museum towards the famous Crooked Spire Parish Church. If you arrive by bus or coach you alight with a shopping area below you including Debenhams and Currys or you can walk up into town towards the local shops and market. If you come by car there are plenty of car parks. It’s not a big town so there are no long walks to reach all the areas you may wish to enjoy.
There are plenty of places for a meal or just a drink and a snack and, if you have little people with you, a walk along to Queen’s Park is a must, with the cafe, seasonal train round the lake, children’s play area and lots of grass to run about on. If the weather turns rainy you are right next to the leisure centre, so don’t forget your costume!
The information centre is the place to go for any help you may require and you can even book for the theatre there. The staff are always helpful and you may find you want to pick up a locally sourced souvenir, of which there are a good selection from pots to paintings to pickles! It really is a nice centre to look around. It is situated next to the Crooked Spire Church. Something for everyone we feel. Enjoy!
