Before parking at the entrance we decided to drive up through the Gorge then return to park but unless you are in a convertible the view is restricted so back to the car park and jump on the open topped bus(we already had our tickets booked on-line) the tickets included the car park and the visit later to the caves. As the bus wandered up hill above our heads towered the cliffs rising 450feet. Awesome! and here and there the odd mountain goat doing death defying jumps across near vertical rock faces. A good trip! Later we visited the caves only just newly opened after the recent floods. The caves with thier stunning stalacites and cave lighting effects did not disappoint and well worth a visit. There are numerous caves to explore including Cox's cave, The Crystal Quest, and Goughs cave, all different, all wonderful! "Cheddar Man" Britains oldest skeleton was found here and the museum tells you all about it and afterwards you can have tea nearby and sample some Somerset strawberries, best we have ever tasted!
