Reasons for trip

We had never been to Chatsworth house before and set off on a bus trip with Sherwood travel (Immingham), we got picked up at 9.40am in Brigg our home town. No stops on the way meant we got there quickly. We bought a few expensive food and drink presents from the Farm Shop, before going to the busy Christmas Market at the side of Chatsworth house. Every stall was good quality, creative gifts and delicious foodstuffs. We liked the donuts and Gluwein best. The lovely countryside was all around us. A quick trip around the gardens didn't disappoint us, fountains and waterfalls and statues, a maze and ravines and the excellent view of Chatsworth House from the bottom of the lake was priceless. Afterwards we went into the House to look at the themed Christmas decorations in Chatsworth House. It was wonderful, Christmas trees everywhere and the fanatasy story "Alice in Wonderland" was everywhere to be seen. The huge ginger cat amused us and the mad hatters tea party was excellent. We got some good photos, it certainly transported you into another world. Parts of the house were closed, and we would like to go back in the spring to see it how it usually is. When the flowers are out in the marvellous gardens, it must be wonderful. You can opt to go round the gardens only, for £13 each. I`d be tempted to bring a picnic and go midweek when its quieter. We did get some fish and chips in a plastic tray, they were tasty but cost £14 for the two of us. Its all pricey but then you don't mind paying to go round a magnificent house such as this .Well worth the journey, I would say.
