Chatsworth prides itself that it offers full disabled access to all.

There is designated free blue badge parking near to the house. Visitors with restricted mobility can be dropped off and collected at the front of the house. A free buggy service is provided runs from the car park to the house and gardens entrances and up to the stables and farmyard. Ask a amember of staff if you want to make use of this. There are buggy tours available around the garden from the orangery. A trailer offers rides to the woods and lakes behind the house, although wheelchair users need to prebook this. There is a small additional charge for these.

There house is fully accessible. There are over 30 rooms to see and a lift allows wheelchair users to visit all of the rooms.

There are eight wheelchairs available for use in the house and grounds and three electric scooters for use in the garden only. These have to be prebooked and are collected from the Lodge to the left of the house entrance.

Assistance dogs are allowed in the house, gardens and park.

The shops, Carriage House and Cavendish Restaurants are fully accessible. There are disabled toilets near the house entrance, in the Carriage house restaurant and in the farmyard. There are none in the gardens

Most of the paths around the gardens are wide and hard surface suitable for wheelchairs. The sensory garden is fully accessible. The path up beside the water cascade is quite steep and may not be suitable. Visitors with visual impairments are provided with a free audio tour of the house. There is also a larger print copy of the guide book. A sign language interpreter is available by prior request.

Although there are no reductions for disabled visitors, a carer is admitted free.
