As the title suggests our visit to Champneys Springs was a good experience.
On arrival we were offered a healthy fruit drink, whilst we filled in the necessary paper work. Having found our room we were invited for a short orientation tour which we found very useful.
There are activities running from 7am to 9pm so you can have a full day of healthy fun! So much so, that we had to decide which activities we wanted to participate in before we booked our meals so they didn’t clash!
The pool is wonderful and any aqua classes are generally taken off to the side so that ‘length’ swimmers are not inconvenienced.
The staff were very helpful and nothing seemed too much trouble.
You are allowed to breakfast and lunch in your robes, which are supplied. We found that quite amusing as most of us are not ‘body beautiful’! But of course it is convenient if you are coming from or going to a spa treatment, fitness class or off to the pool.
The food was excellent. Breakfast and lunch were buffet style. At lunch there was a chef on hand to create a hot dish of the day. A nice touch we felt. We heard one gentleman ask, “Is there no proper butter?” All the food was really healthy and innovative with, for example, beetroot butter and cinnamon butter.
For the evening meal you were asked to wear smart casual and there was waiter service and a good choice on the menu.
The grounds are very pleasant for a stroll and there are plenty of loungers outside when the weather is hot enough for socialising outdoors.
The only downside was that we felt our room could have done with an update.
Much more could be said but why not give it a try if you want to feel you have had a healthy break?
