Chambercombe Manor is thought to date from the 11th century and was mentioned in the Domesday Book. We have visited several times on both guided and non guided tours and have never been disappointed. We have also attended a paranormal evening. The volunteers are enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the history and legends of the house including the secret room. Regular paranormal events are held and there is a pleasant tea room, shop and lovely grounds to explore. Holiday cottages are available for rent. The Manor would appeal to people interested in history or the paranormal.
We felt that admission prices are excellent value for money.
Dogs are allowed in the grounds on leads.
Due to the nature of the building, floors are uneven and stairs may be steep and narrow in parts, doors may be low in places.
Opening times are March-October.
Tour prices etc. can be seen on the website- http://www.chambercombemanor.org.uk
