We arrived in Quito, Ecuador on 20th December for our Ecuadorian trip to both the Amazon jungle and The Galapagos Islands. Our first two nights were at Casa Gangotena in the heart of the old town of Quito. From the moment we entered this beautiful hotel the staff were so attentive and we felt like royalty. Nothing was too much for them and at one point the bell boy was sent to the local chemist to buy some plasters for us as we needed them. Afternoon tea is a must served from 4.30 pm – 6.00 pm and is included in the price. We didnt need an evening meal after that! When we asked at reception about going out to a bar and whether it was dangerous we were told that the bell boy would accompany us to make sure we were safe. They also gave us a mobile phone to use to call the hotel who would book us a taxi to pick us up from wherever we were. 6* service in the most amazing building. Highly recommended.
