Reasons for trip

We went to Canary Wharf this January to see the winter lights display. This is the sixth year running they have held the event and I’ve always heard good things about it. There were over 25 light installations spread throughout Canary Wharf and they range from simple light projections to some spectacular pieces of art. One of the most clever was a computer controlled set of droplets that dropped to form words as they were hit by light.
There are plenty of places to eat and drink and the opportunity for some retail therapy too if that takes your fancy. The route we took included a number of steps but I saw enough ramps and lifts to suggest that, if a little time was spent planning a route, most displays would be accessible.
I enjoyed wandering around the area seeing the lights and also catching up with the construction that has gone on since the last time I was here e.g. cross rail place. Well worth a visit and even better, its Free.
