Just to add more information to a previous review of Café Rouge, this was a particularly pleasant visit on 16th November. Cold, wet and miserable outside, the restaurant was packed with diners enjoying the warm and friendly atmosphere.
We managed to find a table, and despite the speedy turnover of orders and food delivery, it was all very efficiently done – thank you Robin and Nicol!
Typical steak and fries, but the new-recipe Beouf Bourguignon was rich and tasty. All the food teamed well with the Jean Balmont merlot, smooth with a slight hint of spice, at £19.50. As our table was abit cramped and at the edge of the main entrance/exit route, we were given a complimentary dessert Beignets with salted caramel – divine! It was a perfect way to end our holiday. £17 food each.
