Reasons for trip

If you’re looking for a happening spot with good food to sit and watch the world go by, “Cafe 38”:http://www.royalcourtliverpool.co.uk/eat-and-drink/caf%C3%A9-38/ at The Royal Court in Liverpool is it. We stopped in for a late lunch just as a rowdy group of teens were departing after seeing a show. Nice to see and hear them excited about theatre. Once their noise departed along with them, we settled in for a delicious meal and listened to the old time music playing and the buses arriving and setting off from all the bus stops outside. The seating area is circular and overlooks Queen Square. We ordered our meals at the counter and waited with baited breath and hunger. The staff members were very friendly and provided excellent service. We had lovely pea soup and broccoli soup served with brown buns; cheese and onion and ham and cheese sandwiches; bags of crisps to share and coffees. Soup and a sandwich are £4.50; £2.50 if bought separately. Fancy coffees are £2.20 and filter coffee is £1.50. As you can tell by the photo, I was so hungry I forgot to take a picture until we were finished!

We arrived in Liverpool by train for this visit. The nearest car park is St. John’s Shopping Centre.
